Logos Pathos Ethos Powerpoint
Aristotle’s modes of persuasion is pretty standard fare for many First Year Composition classes.
Linked below is the PowerPoint I use to teach logos, pathos, and ethos.
Each mode of persuasion has a quote from Aristotle’s On Rhetoric (english translation) followed by a plain language explanation.
The PowerPoint has a couple of jokes and a slight diversion where I spend a few minutes discussing some basic differences between Plato and Aristotle. These can be skipped if you don’t feel they are relevant.
